Maucere Law Group, Trial Attorney Scott Maucere file Sexual Assault lawsuits on behalf of 19 Women against Massage Envy
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Trial Attorney Scott Maucere and his firm, The Maucere Law Group have filed lawsuits on behalf of 19 women who were secretly recorded while receiving massage services at a Massage Envy location in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Scott Maucere is representing the women alongside attorney Tonya Craft of Tonya Craft Legal. Together, they are advocating for their clients and pursuing justice through the legal system.
The lawsuits details the facts that over the course of 2 years, Massage Envy therapist Kenneth Spears secretly and illegally filmed dozens of women without their consent with a hidden phone camera.
The lawsuits allege that when confronted with Spears actions, Massage Envy covered up the wrongdoing, lying to customers and taking their monthly fees instead of telling them that they were likely victims
The lawsuits include counts for fraud against Massage Envy, invasion of privacy, sexual assault, healthcare provider negligence, and violation of the consumer protection act.
“Each woman that receives a massage from Massage Envy has the absolute right to privacy and consent” says attorney Maucere. “Massage Envy has an abysmal track record nationwide of protecting the safety of their customers. We are filing these lawsuits to hold Massage Envy accountable for their failure to supervise, coverup, and injury to these women.”
The lawsuits are being filed in Hamilton County Circuit Court.
